Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and Instagram are making progress in hate speech removals or spam content. However, there is still a mixed picture with platforms removing 81% of the notified violations within 24 hours and removing an average of 62.5% of flagged content.
As many as seven out of ten notifications are removed by Facebook within 12 hours. Google too removes about 80% of notifications within 24 hours. However, this is not the case with other online platforms like YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and Instagram where it takes longer to remove notifications.
